To prepare attractive, healthy dishes for Food Service Department


Reports to Cook Supervisor and Food Service Manager


Food Preparation

  1. Prepares dishes following recipe specifications as assigned by cook supervisor.
  2. Maintain accurate up-to-date records of ingredients transferred to and from stores.
  3. Maintain proper storage and labeling procedures.
  4. Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling and storing according to CRRFFL.
  5. Prepare trays and dishes for catering orders as assigned.
  6. Prepare baked goods as assigned.

Department Maintenance

  1. Pull short-date items and properly record and following cull guidelines
  2. Maintain prep and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following established procedures
  3. Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures
  4. Alert cook supervisor to low inventories or out-of-stocks of basic ingredients and supplies
  5. Use department equipment safely.  Advise cook supervisor of equipment repair needs
  6. Carry out established opening and closing procedures
  7. Carry out established cleaning check lists

Additional Shift Lead Responsibilities

  1. In absence of cook supervisor cover responsibilities
  2. Assist in inventory counts
  3. Maintain department logs as assigned (temp/cull)
  4. Ability to communicate clearly


  1. Experience working in food Service, deli or restaurant
  2. Experience serving the public
  3. Ability to work as a positive member of a team
  4. Ability to handle multiple demands and follow through on commitments
  5. Familiarity with natural foods


  1. Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  2. Basic math skills required.
  3. Willingness to work with meat.
  4. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  5. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
  6. Able to understand written and spoken English
  7. Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.
