KITCHEN PREP COOK

Part Time

Location:

Purpose:

Responsible for culinary tasks within operations in the kitchen focusing on proper preparation, set-up, and execution of food items.

Status:

Reports to Cook Supervisor and Food Service Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Perform many basic tasks of food preparation and organization in the kitchen.

  • Prepares dishes following recipe specifications as assigned by cook supervisor.

  • Ensures proper storage of daily deliveries and foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.

  • Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling, and storing.

  • Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained by following cleaning routines and thorough ongoing diligence during shift and in set-up and clean down procedures; clean designated work areas, equipment, and utensils.

 

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Assists in other areas of the store as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

  • None

 

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Food Handling Certification Required (Within 6 months

 

Experience:

  • Customer service experience.

  • Previous food experience a plus

  • Experience working in a demanding, face-paced, retail environment.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Communication skills – active listener and gives clear concise directions.

 

Other

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
