Facilities Technician

Purpose:  
 

To provide facilities support to Facilities Manager including building maintenance, equipment repair and administration.

Status:

 

Reports to Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide facilities support to Facilities Manager including building maintenance, equipment repair and administration of janitorial and other outside supplies to maintain company property.

  • Assists with maintaining daily operations of the physical facilities.

  • Works with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs.

  • Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary.

  • Completes minor paint jobs, repairs and tasks as needed for optimal building performance.

  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.

  • Performs basic facilities and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Periodically inspects and assesses condition of building and grounds; reports or corrects conditions as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Able to understand written and spoken English

  • Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.

 

Requirements:

  • Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Working knowledge of major trades such as HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, hazardous materials, EHS.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on maintenance and preventative methods and procedures used in keeping buildings in clean and orderly operating condition.

  • Good communication skills – listening and clear instructions

  • Ability to perform physical labor necessary to successful completion of tasks.

  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery. Must have Valid Driver’s License. Must be able to complete forklift pallet/jack certification within 90 days of start date.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
