Purpose:

Supervision of deli operation to ensure customer service standards are being met, presentation levels are at expected levels and safe food handling procedures are being followed. The supervisor must be able to function as a manager when they are not present.
 

Status:

Reports to Food Service Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure execution of manager direction regarding customer service, quality assurance, compliance and uniforms. 

  2. Greet and provide assistance to customers. Model the Lund Food Holdings customer service standards at all times and ensure that the departmental staff are doing the same. 

  3. Move staff between deli areas based on customer traffic to ensure customer service standards are met. 

  4. Monitor employee breaks to guarantee they take place in a timely and non-disruptive manner. 

  5. Perform job duties of staff positions as needed. 

  6. Ensure all staff members are following proper hand washing techniques and personal hygiene guidelines. 

  7. Ensure all staff members comply with company policies and state and federal regulations in regard to work practices. 

  8. Monitor uniforms, nametags and shoes to ensure guidelines are followed and hair is restrained properly. 

 

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to project a friendly, outgoing personality and work as a positive team member.

  2. Outstanding customer service skills and interest in serving the public.

  3. General knowledge of and interest in produce preferred.

  4. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.

  5. Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work well both independently and with a team.

 

Requirements:

  1. Education/ Training: High school diploma or GED preferred. 

  2. Licenses/Certifications: Food safety certification. 

  3. Ability to work various shifts including early morning, evenings and weekends.

  4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  5. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  6. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.

  7. Must be 18 years of age to operate equipment.

  8. Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions including wet and cold environments.

  9. Able to understand written and spoken English.

  10. Basic math skills required.
