Part-Time

Location: 2020 Oregon Street

Purpose:  To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist to help meet department goals by stocking, receiving and handling merchandise on the sales floor.

Status: Reports to Asian Grocery Manager

Responsibilities:

 

Qualifications:

• • Follow all safety and security procedures, such as lifting properly. Correct baler operation.

  • Reorder merchandise as needed based on item movement and verifies invoices to product.

  • Follow merchandising standards and practices: align product, collect and return stray items, stock to maintain high product levels.

  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities. Write list of products to be brought from warehouses for stocking.

  • Use box cutters to cut boxes for display/accessibility of products and to cut twine or shrink wrap from pallet.

  • Stock opened cases on shelves. Move and position pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack. Stack products from partial pallets onto six wheelers or full pallets.

  • Observe and ensure correct product signage.

  • Set up display, assembling as necessary. Modify displays for safe handling by customers.

  • Pull loose cardboard from floor. Clear sales floor of debris and sweeps. Remove empty pallets and equipment from the sales floors. Operate cardboard baler.

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service. Help customers load large items into cart, direct customers to products, relate product status knowledge and help them with special orders.

  • Assist in other areas of the store as necessary.

  • Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Knowledge/Skills:

    • Previous merchandising experience preferred.

    • Basic computer skills required.

    • Basic math skills required.

  • Other:

    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Pay range: $19.00 - $27.50 per hour
