CAFE CLERK

Location: 920 Heinz Ave

Purpose: To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of the Cafe to help meet department goals.
​
Status: Reports to Café Supervisor and Food Service Manager
​
Responsibilities:
​
Customer Service
-
Fill customer orders in prompt, friendly, courteous manner.
-
Report customer suggestions, comments and complaints to Café supervisor.
-
Stock Cafe cases and displays fully to give feeling of abundance. Ensure freshness by rotating, keeping batches separate by date.
-
Ensure all items are appropriately priced and signed.
-
Keep menu boards up to date. Ensure that pricing is correct.
-
Assist customers with questions and special orders.

Department Maintenance
-
Pull short-date items and properly account for before disposal.
-
Maintain Café cases, displays, and prep and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following established procedures. Clean up spills.
-
Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling and storing according to CURFFL and HACCP.

Alert Café supervisor to low inventories and out-of–stocks of Café products and supplies.
-
Use department equipment safely and as intended. Advise Food Service Manager of equipment repair needs.

Carry out established opening and closing procedures.
-
Follow established guidelines when using knives.

Food Preparation
-
Following specification of Café supervisor, prepare items as assigned.
-
Maintain proper storage and labeling procedures.
-
Pull pre-made productions from the kitchen and stock in Kitchen cases as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Licenses/Certifications: Food
-
Experience: Food and customer service experience desired.
-
Knowledge/Skills:
-
Basic math skills required
-
Familiarity with natural foods, nutrition and food sensitives.
-
Understanding of written and spoken English
-
Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
-
Handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
-

Other:

Must be 18 years old of age to operate equipment
-
Able to stand for extended periods of time.

Willingness to work with meat
-
Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.
-

Pay range: $19.00 - $27.50 per hour
