CAFE SUPERVISOR

Location: 920 Heinz Ave
Status: Reports to Food Service Manager and Assistant Food Service Manager
Responsibilities:

Ensure the efficient operation of Café department
-
Maintain quality standards of products: taste, flavor, freshness, and appearance; provide customers with high quality products.

Oversee the daily production of food products for sale; direct, instruct, and advise employees on daily tasks and duties related to food production
-
Maintain/increase profitability of department, maximize sales by offering quality products and extraordinary customer service; meet/exceed customer expectations
-
Set and meet all operational targets
-
Ensure that Food Safety guidelines are well understood and followed at all times
-
Proactively examine ways to improve department and product offerings; anticipate and respond to trends in the food service industry
-
Maintain a clean, attractive, and pleasant department appearance for customers
-
Oversee purchasing; ensure that ordering is done in accordance with department planning and needs and with store policy
-
Inventory management: ensure that back stock volume of products are adequate and that stock is rotated for optimal freshness; conduct physical inventory of all products and track numbers per period
-
Oversee and instruct employees on processes, policies, and procedures related to receiving, preparing, and displaying merchandise
-
Effectively manage the department employees; align daily objectives and efforts with overall company objectives

Train and develop department employees; advise employees on best practices to maximize productivity

Develop and maintain a competent, enthusiastic, and respectful department culture through hands on supervision, constructive advising, and interactive instruction (lead by example)

Ensure that department employees are friendly, engaging, and attentive to customers to maximize customer shopping experience
-
Assist Assistant Food Service Manager in conducting employee performance evaluations/reviews, provide feedback to employees on performance, and complete and submit all related paperwork/forms to the food service management.

Customer service: strive for maximum customer satisfaction; perform duties of clerks when needed to supplement department and to lead by example; serve as a role model for customer service

Perform other tasks and duties assigned by the food service management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Foodservice experience desirable.
-
Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality.
-
Ability to lead a team and work as positive member of the team.
-
Ability to handle multiple demands.
-
Familiarity with natural food, nutrition and food sensitivities helpful.
-
Able to stand for long periods of time.
-
Must be 18 years of age in order to operate equipment.
-
Willingness to work with meat.

REQUIREMENTS

Basic math skills required.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.

Able to understand written and spoken English

Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.

Pay range: $22.00 - $27.50 per hour
