Purpose:  Increasing sales and encouraging customer loyalty by providing excellent customer service and product knowledge. 

Status:  Reports to Wine & Beer Department Manager/buyer and Supervisor.



  • Providing responsive, exceptional service to customers by answering questions, making recommendations, and responding to requests.

  • Updating displays, stocking merchandise, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.

  • Ensure signage and price tags are correct and in place. Notify POS of any product barcodes that do not scan with correct information. Maintain all signs and barcodes daily.

  • Communicate special orders to manager/buyer in a timely manner. Receive deliveries, report damages or discrepancies, and store in appropriate areas.

  • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, floors, removing trash, and confirming that we have a safe work area.

Non-Essential Job Functions and Tasks:

  • Assist in other areas of the store/department as needed.


  • Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications: None.

  • Experience: Customer Service or prior wine/beer sales preferred.

  • Knowledge skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.

  • Knowledge of current trends in the beer and wine industry.

  • Ability to understand written and spoken English.

  • Basic math skills required.

  • Other:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.

    • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

    • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.

Pay range: $18.50 - $26.50 per hour
