WINE & BEER CLERK
2020 Oregon Street
Purpose: Increasing sales and encouraging customer loyalty by providing excellent customer service and product knowledge.
Status: Reports to Wine & Beer Department Manager/buyer and Supervisor.
Providing responsive, exceptional service to customers by answering questions, making recommendations, and responding to requests.
Updating displays, stocking merchandise, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
Ensure signage and price tags are correct and in place. Notify POS of any product barcodes that do not scan with correct information. Maintain all signs and barcodes daily.
Communicate special orders to manager/buyer in a timely manner. Receive deliveries, report damages or discrepancies, and store in appropriate areas.
Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, floors, removing trash, and confirming that we have a safe work area.
Non-Essential Job Functions and Tasks:
Assist in other areas of the store/department as needed.
Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Customer Service or prior wine/beer sales preferred.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.
Knowledge of current trends in the beer and wine industry.
Ability to understand written and spoken English.
Basic math skills required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
