DELI CLERK

Full-Time and Part-Time

Location:

2020 Oregon Street

 

Purpose:  

To provide prompt, friendly, helpful, well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of natural foods deli to help meet department goals.

 

Status:  

Reports to Kitchen/Deli Management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.

  • Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats.

  • Preparing special orders and party trays and catering

  • Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.

  • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.

  • Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.

  • Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Confirming that all displays, products, and services comply with company standards.

 

Non-Essential Job Functions and Tasks:

  • Assist in other areas of the store/department as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Food Safety Certification required (within 90 days of initial employment).

Experience:

  • Foodservice experience and customer service experience desired.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Basic math skills required.

Other:

  • Ability to lift, up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be over 18 to operate equipment.

Pay range: $18.50 - $26.50 per hour
