HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven HR intern to assist our HR department with administrative and HR-related tasks. To be successful as an HR intern, you should keep abreast of the latest developments in labor legislation to determine how company HR policies may be affected. Ultimately, an outstanding HR intern should be detail-oriented and able to demonstrate excellent administrative and organizational skills. PT/Flexible schedule available.

 

As a Human Resources Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to various HR functions at Berkeley Bowl. You will support the HR Team in areas such as recruitment, employee onboarding, training and development, employee relations, and HR administration. This internship can provide you with valuable insights into the field of HR and help you develop essential skills for a successful career in human resources.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Process paperwork and maintain personnel files for any changes in employee’s status including, but not limited to, changes in pay, department, location, tax status, address/phone number, disciplinary documentation, and the like.

  • Enter and update pertinent information in the HRIS database, as needed.

  • Screening potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.

  • Posting job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.

  • Remove job advertisements from job boards and social media platforms once vacancies have been filled.

  • Coordinating new hire orientations.

  • Employee onboarding: assist in the preparation of new employee onboarding materials; coordinate orientation sessions and ensure smooth integration of new hires; help with completing new hire paperwork and documentation.

  • Assisting in the planning of company events.

  • Preparing and sending offer and rejection letters or emails to candidates.

  • Employee relations: respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.

  • Work on various projects associated with the HR department

HR Intern Requirements:

  • A student who is working towards a degree in human resource management or related field.

  • Desire to learn about human resources.

  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

  • Reading, writing and mathematical skills equivalent to college level or above.

  • Organized and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work as a positive team member.

  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, ability to work with all types of people.

  • Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality, calmness under pressure.

  • Good verbal and written communications skills.

  • Computer literate, experience with Excel, Word and Outlook a plus.

  • Results oriented and demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.

  • Creative and innovative.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
