Reports to

Café Supervisor and Food Service Manager

Purpose

To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of the Cafe to help meet department goals.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Fill customer orders in prompt, friendly, courteous manner. 

  • Report customer suggestions, comments and complaints to Café supervisor. 

  • Stock Cafe cases and displays fully to give feeling of abundance. 

  • Ensure freshness by rotating, keeping batches separate by date. 

  • Ensure all items are appropriately priced and signed. 

  • Keep menu boards up to date. 

  • Ensure that pricing is correct. 

  • Assist customers with questions and special orders. 

  • Department Maintenance Pull short-date items and properly account for before disposal. 

  • Maintain Café cases, displays, and prep and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following established procedures. 

  • Clean up spills. 

  • Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling and storing according to CURFFL and HACCP. 

  • Alert Café supervisor to low inventories and out-of–stocks of Café products and supplies. 

  • Use department equipment safely and as intended. 

  • Advise Food Service Manager of equipment repair needs. 

  • Carry out established opening and closing procedures. 

  • Follow established guidelines when using knives. 

  • Food Preparation Following specification of Café supervisor, prepare items as assigned. 

  • Maintain proper storage and labeling procedures. 

  • Pull pre-made productions from the kitchen and stock in Kitchen cases as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic math skills required 

  • Familiarity with natural foods, nutrition and food sensitives. 

  • Understanding of written and spoken English 

  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment. 

  • Handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Training

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

Food Safety

Other

  • Must be 18 years old of age to operate equipment 

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time. 

  • Willingness to work with meat 

  • Willingness to work with sanitizers and cleaners.

Pay Range

$19.61 - $29.50 per hour
