UTILITY CLERK

Reports to
Front End Management.
Purpose
To provide prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and a high level of customer service, assisting cashiers by bagging groceries and preventing back-up at registers as well as being able to assist throughout the store as necessary.
Responsibilities
Provides excellent customer service by greeting customers, bagging and loading orders, answers question, relates information on special promotions, thanks customers, and provides prompt and courteous service.
Packs customer orders into bags or boxes and loads bags into shopping basket.
Checks packaging for tampering.
Follow all safety and security procedures.
Assists cashiers and customers by locating products, confirming prices, maintaining merchandising, bag groceries, collecting register supplies, etc. to keep the lines moving smoothly.
Adhere to all store and department procedures for performance of duties.
Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front-end area.
Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately, both inside and outside the store.
Retrieves shopping carts from all company property including parking lots and nearby sidewalks while following all safety protocols.
Maintains parking lots keeping the areas free of debris and equipment.
Performs related tasks for set up and closing duties for the department such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning the front-end area.
Cross trains in other departments of the store to be able to assist when necessary.
Assist in other areas of the store/department as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
Previous customer service experience preferred. Basic computer and math skills required.
Education & Training
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
None Required
Other
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and lift up to 20 lbs. frequently.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Pay Range
$19.61 - $28.25 per hour​
