KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Full-Time

Location: 920 Heinz Ave

 

Purpose: To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of Café to help meet department goals.

Status: Reports to Food Service Manager.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow food safety and sanitation regulations maintaining correct temperatures cooking, cooling and storing according to HACCP.

  • Prepare dishes and catering orders following recipe specifications as assigned by Food Service Manager.

  • Maintain proper storage and labeling procedures. Maintain accurate up-to-date records of ingredients transferred within, to and from stores. Pull short-date items and properly record and follow cull guidelines. Maintain logs. Reorder low inventories or out-of-stocks of basic ingredients and supplies.

  • Maintain prep and storage areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following established procedures. Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures.

  • Use department equipment safely. Advise Food Service Manager of equipment repair needs.

  • Carry out established opening and closing procedures.

  • Carry out established cleaning check lists.

  • In absence of Food Service Manager, cover responsibilities.

  • Assist in inventory counts. Maintain department logs as assigned.

  • Oversee shift checklists and break schedule.

  • Act as liaison between management and staff. Oversee the performance of the kitchen staff and provide feedback and coaching as necessary.

  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by Food Service Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Certification is required within 90 days of hire.

  • Knowledge/Skills:

    • Excellent customer service skills.

    • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English.

    • Ability to handle multiple demands and follow through on commitments.

    • Experience working in food service, deli or restaurant preferred.

    • Demonstrated leadership skills.

    • Familiarity with a wide variety of foods preferred.

  • Other:

    • Must be 18 to operate a pallet jack and other equipment.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously.

    • Ability to stand long periods of time.

    • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.

Pay range: $24.50 - $31.00 per hour
